Our Involvement
In the Philippines, an Ostrom Climate – Centre for Conservation Innovations (CCI) consortium collaborated on a feasibility study for a mangrove conservation and restoration initiative in Palawan province.
Outcome
The project consisted of three parallel work streams: the first was the stakeholder engagement process consisting of key informant interviews with relevant national authorities, local governments, community representatives, and civil society representatives in Palawan to seek early input on conservation and development priorities, project design, and risk. The second output was a two-phased carbon modeling process assessing land-use change and carbon stocks. The third was a methodological and legal risk assessment process designed to identify potential barriers to project success.
