Our Involvement
Ostrom Climate helps Novex measure their carbon footprint, set reduction targets, and identify strategies to meet those targets. Emissions that can’t be reduced are offset through Ostrom’s Climate Action Portfolio. By focusing on increasing the fuel efficiency of their fleet and switching to zero-emissions vehicles, Novex has reduced both their total GHGs and their emissions intensity for deliveries.
Outcome
In 2008, Novex aligned their reduction targets with the BC Government’s and committed to reducing their GHG emissions by 33% by 2020. Novex exceeded this target in 2010, and by 2020, they had reduced their footprint by 59%, despite their business growth. In 2021, they committed to completing all of their deliveries in electric vehicles by 2035 – which will eliminate the majority of their GHGs. Since 2008, Novex has offset over 11,000 tonnes – the equivalent of removing more than 2,300 cars from the road for a year.
