Ethylene Oxide Reactor Catalyst Switch Project

DOW Chemical Company

The Ethylene Oxide Reactor Catalyst Switch Project was developed by strategic partners Petronas Chemicals Glycols and The Dow Chemical Company. Emissions reductions were realized through the development and implementation of an advanced reactor catalyst for ethylene oxide production that reduces direct process CO2 emissions and facility energy requirements. The project was developed under the Dow-IOC Carbon Partnership.

Our Involvement

Ostrom Climate supported Dow for the full project cycle, including project design and documentation, validation, activity reporting, and verification.

Outcome

The project was validated and over 70,000 tonnes of emissions reductions have been verified to date.
